Allison Doke Works

Allison Doke

Allison Doke is an impressionist painter living in Marietta, Ga. Born in Liverpool, England, her family moved to the United States when she was a young child. Often feeling out of place in the suburban midwestern culture, she spent many hours drawing and painting. She won several citywide contests at an early age. After high school she attended Westfield State University in Massachusetts, graduating with a major in journalism and a minor in art. After college she began a career as a flight attendant and spent nearly 30 years traveling the world. Art has always been an important part of her life and her dream to paint full-time came true in 2020 when she retired from Delta Airlines. Her studio is located at the Artisan Resource Center in Marietta, Ga.. She has won several awards in both plein air competitions and juried shows. In 2019 she was selected to be an artist-in-resident in Orquevaux, France. A life-long learner, she continues to study and experiment with the nuances of color and the subjects she paints. She recently began a mentorship program with James Richards, an American Impressionist Society Master Member. She is a member of Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) and is represented by Robert Kent Galleries in Marietta, Ga.
